In addition, sales teams at industrial manufacturers struggle to accurately price large-scale projects or prototypes with reliable real-time data, which hinders their ability to sell profitable complex projects and sustainable partnership models. Recent price increases in raw materials, energy, and labour have impacted production costs, and manufacturers are rapidly looking for further ways to improve product and supply chain efficiency at scale, to lower the overall cost of goods sold and increase service levels. With increased focus on planning and tracking the full lifecycle of carbon-intensive manufacturing and products, including costings, sourcing, logistics and carbon data tracking, there is a need for a fully integrated extended PLM discipline supported by consistent change and configuration management. The Product Life Cycle Management ( PLM) process, due to its ability to effectively manage products from concept to circular renewal at scale, has broadened from covering mechanical engineering, to consumer products and capital-asset intensive industries and facilities.
